WARZONE 2100 is a real time action and strategy game set on Earth in the 21st Century. Upon entering the post-nuclear world of Warzone 2100 you land from your transport and establish your base. Here you conduct research, design and manufacture vehicles, build new structures and prepare your plans of global conquest.
Developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. Although comparable to Earth 2150 in many significant respects, it does contain aspects that are unique. These include various radar technologies, a greater focus on artillery and counter-battery technologies, more frequent in-game cinematic updates as game play progress, as well as a different vehicle design method. It was released in 1999 for both PC and Playstation.
Warzone is an open source game which can be downloaded from FilePlanet. The source files contain a fully playable version minus the in-game movies. The game is also available from several other sources. To play online you will need version 1.10 and sign up for GameSpy Arcade. The single player game consist of three campaigns. Each campaign features a large campaign map and six or more sub-maps. As key objectives are reached on the campaign map, missions are activated on the sub-maps. These missions are very varied from hit-and-run attacks to building structures to hold territory. A complete mission guide can be found here. Edios no longer supports the Warzone 2100 but you can get answers to most of your questions at the Warzone 2100 forums.
